I Am Me, Flying Me

This work portrays the journey of an individual who is pressured to conform by society, yet overcomes that pressure and ultimately discovers their own identity. A white duck, newly hatched from an egg, feels out of place among a group of black ducks. While the black ducks all look the same, the white duck struggles to preserve its own unique color and identity. Despite the stares and pressure from the black ducks, the white duck never gives up its true nature. In the end, after recognizing itself once again in the mirror, the white duck spreads its wings and freely flies into the sky. This work conveys the importance of individuality and identity, as well as the courage to protect one’s own color against social conformity. I hope it offers a small sense of comfort and inspiration to everyone searching for themselves and learning to believe in who they are.
